Remembering Harry H. Deuber Jr. (1931-2014)
The artwork that graces the top of this website was created by former Gulph Mills resident Harry Harrison Deuber Jr. Mr. Deuber passed away on October 4, 2014. The image is taken from his “Balligo Road – Gulph Mills, PA 1944.” He also is known for his rendition of the Balmoral swimming hole (Sumner Dam). Read more about Mr. Deuber. (posted Oct. 11, 2014)
Garden Party Set for Saturday, Sept. 27
Join us for the annual GMCA Garden Party, to be held this year at the home of Liz and Ralph Schumacher, 947 Longview Road, Gulph Mills, from 1pm to 4 pm. Enjoy an afternoon of light refreshments, spirits and lively conversation. Dave and Barley, professional musicians from the Gulph, will be enhancing the event with their music. The gardens have appeared in magazines and won numerous awards. Rain date is Sunday Sept. 28.

The GMCA annual meeting will take place Sunday June 29 at 2:30 PM at Philadelphia Newspapers Inc.

PennDOT Reopens Balligomingo Road
On May 22, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that Balligomingo Road reopened, marking the end of construction to realign the intersection with Route 23 (Front Street) in West Conshohocken. Read the full press release. (posted May 28, 2013)
Valley Forge National Park Asbestos Cleanup
Due to asbestos cleanup, various closures are in effect. Trooper Rd. is closed to vehicular traffic at the intersection of Trooper Rd. and Rt 23. (posted April 7, 2013)
Annual Meeting Recap
An engaged group of Gulph Mills Civic Association (GMCA) members attended the annual meeting held in the Philadelphia Newspapers Inc. Community Room on February 17, 2013. During the meeting, members heard a review of Association activities from President Rich Dougert, followed by a presentation from Township Manager David Kraynik and Township Supervisor Carole Kenney. The First 300 Years of UM Township
As part of the Upper Merion Tricentennial, copies of the book “The First Three Hundred Years” are available for purchase at the Township Building cashier’s window. “From the Lenni Lenape Indians to the King of Prussia Mall – the first 300 years of our history is far richer than you could ever imagine,” says the book’s description. Van Weiss, longtime GMCA Board Member, wrote the prologue and contributed many photographs. (posted Feb. 3, 2013)
