GMCA Oppose Hughes Rd Cell Phone Tower
In February 2010, the GMCA Board of Directors voted to support the opposition of the construction of a planned highly visible Sprint 200 foot cell phone tower, which would be located at 126 Hughes Road.
It was reported that Upper Merion Township has received at least 15 letters of protest from local residents.
The matter will potentially be taken up at the March 2010 Upper Merion Zoning Hearing Board Meeting. The GMCA Board plans to attend and support the concerns of Hughes Road homeowners at that meeting. All other concerned UM residents are encouraged to attend.
Recently, GMCA expressed concerns to the Upper Merion Board of Supervisors regarding an extension of another cell phone tower on Trinity Lane. The builders acknowledged those concerns, resulting in an extension that will have little impact on the Gulph. (posted 2/22/10)
